Whether you’re trying to survive the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse or part of the ever growing flesh eating, walking dead horde, the first ever Zombie Dash was indeed a success!

This Urban Race through Denver was a fun, riddle filled challenge that did ended up blowing a few minds!

Some of our Zombies were dined on and some of our Zombies feasted on some brains!

Despite the Hot October weather, Zombie Make-up dripping down one’s face and the Trivia being a tad hard….It was a success! Thank you to all of our Make-Up Artists who came out. Tips for Greening Your Meeting

What an amazing turnout we had for the Sensory Processing Disorder benefit concert hosted by the Hard Rock Café! Over 250 guests packed the venue to see Coles Whalen and her band. Our VIP ticket holders had an incredible experience in the Green Room before the concert, as they had cocktails and snacked on the wonderful appetizers donated by the Hard Rock Café, met the band and special guests, and talked to the fabulous DJs who emceed for us. Not to mention the gift bags they received loaded with goodies!

Cha Cha Chavez with Jammin’ 101.5 and Mark Andrew with Mix 100 got the evening started and the crowd excited for the entertainment by giving away a set of Peter Frampton concert tickets. Then the band hit the stage and the party was on. Coles and the band were sensational and Coles had some special guests singing a few songs with her as well. Jim Dalton with The Railbenders joined the band and brought another surprise guest, Jake Schroeder from Opie Gone Bad! Their harmony together was spot on. Not long after that, Josh and Seth Larson from Something Underground took the stage with Coles and blew us all away again.

Shannon Stone with Dial Global stepped in during the break to announce the Sensational Sweepstakes. Throughout the evening guests donated money for our sweepstakes give-a-ways. Lucky winners went home with a Tennessee Traveler guitar autographed by Coles Whalen and her band (donated by Samick Music Corp.), Foo Fighter concert tickets, an autographed collection of country super star CDs, a diamond necklace from Trice Jewelers, and Jake Schroeder topped it off by throwing in a set of his personal Avalanche Tickets.

None of this would have been possible without the gracious donations from all of our sensational sponsors. Because of these incredible sponsorships and all of you who joined us for the evening, the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation raised over $7,000 for research, education, and advocacy!

A big thank you goes out to Hard Rock Café, Coles Whalen and her band, our generous sponsors, and all of you who attended! You made this event a night to remember and a success for all the families touched by Sensory Processing Disorder.

Whether you’re trying to survive the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse or part of the ever growing flesh eating, walking dead horde, the first ever Zombie Dash is for you.

This Urban Race through Denver will be a fun, riddle filled challenge that will blow your mind! That is if the Zombies haven’t’ already dined on your brains!

The Ginn Mill is officially the Zombie Horde Headquarters for the 2011 Zombie Dash!

The competition will take place throughout Downtown Denver and will feature teams of 2 – 6 players facing challenges at each checkpoint. (Think Minute to Win It!) Contestants will also have to answer Zombie/Denver Trivia questions. Racers are only allowed to walk/run or use public transportation during the race. (RTD and Light Rail, NO Cabs, Bikes, Pedi cabs, etc. allowed)

Zombie Dash will take place between the hours of 11am and 4pm with some racers finishing in less than 2 hours and others enjoying each piece of the competition while they fight to conquer the challenges at each checkpoint.  This is a 21+ event! Sorry all you little zombies! Our Goal is to have each challenge/checkpoint be unique and fast paced. Each challenge will have a Zombie theme. Many teams will be outfitted in their best Zombie Gear, while others may be Zombie Bait and some will even be Zombie Hunters.

Part of the proceeds from the race will benefit Flobots.org. We will wrap up the race at the Host Site with Awards, Prizes, Music, Food and Drink Specials.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Go to www.kingandqueenofsummer.com and complete the on-line registration formand questionnaire by July 8th, 2011.  Be creative and do your best to let your answers reflect how awesome you are! To really let us know you have what is takes to wear the crown, you can upload a personal video via youtube, telling us why! It will greatly increase your chances of making the group of guy and girl finalists.

Step 2: ‘Like’ the official King and Queen of Summer Ball facebook page and follow@kingqueensummer on twitter for you chance to improve your score by completing various on-line challenges we will be posting frequently between now and July 8th! For example we might ask you to embark on King and Queen of summer missions, post pictures to the facebook and twitter pages.

Step 3: Get your tickets to the show and compile a court! Make sure to get your tickets to one of the best local line ups of the summer, and get your friends and family to be a part of your court! Once you are a King or Queen you can Knight nobles, your fellow summer country men and woman!

Step 4: Finals! We will choose a group of guy and girl finalists to compete in various physical challenges the night of the show.  This is where training  and having a supportive court will come in handy.  We won’t reveal all of the challenges, but it could be anything from a three legged dance competition, to hula hoop contest, to jumping rope, to grilling the best burger! One thing for sure is that ascension to the thrown will not be easy, and the night of the show it could be anybody’s game!

Step 5: If you are crowned the King or Queen of Summer you will be crowned on stage at the Gothic Theather in front of hundreds of fans and then it will be time to rock out with Bop Skizzum, and four of Colorado’s best bands!
